Livestrong at the YMCA

REACHING GOALS TOGETHER

Through this FREE 12-week program, the Y engages cancer survivors through an approach that focuses on the whole person - mind and body. Participants work with trained staff to improve cardiovascular endurance and functional ability, build muscle mass and strength, and increase flexibility. The program also focuses on the mental health and emotional well-being of survivors and their families.

This program provides a supportive community environment where people affected by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond. Certified trainers focus on helping participants learn and practice skills that will both establish a healthy foundation of mental health and help support them when challenges arise.

The program consists of two 90-minute in person sessions each week, and includes a free YMCA membership for the participant throughout the 12-week program.

Thanks to funding from the Winona County PartnerSHIP and the Winona Community Foundation, this program launched in fall of 2023, with wonderful feedback from each cohort about the positive impact of the program.

Please complete the Interest Form if you'd like to join this program, and we will inform you when the next session opens.
